ART WITH A HEART

 

14 year-old Klark White had an idea and ran with it. She decided to spend numerous hours of her time teaching a week long art class to special education students in Compton. She used her own money earned from babysitting and odd jobs to buy all of the supplies including canvases for all of the kids.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Additionally, the hours planning, earning money, and facilitating the class helped her to earn her Girl Scout Silver Award which is the highest award a Cadet Girl Scout can earn. Klark taught the class without the help of the teacher or aid.
